Xai Thao, A resident of  Wisconsin, United States bought an iPhone $4S in 2014. She claimed that the defective phone blew up in 2016 also damages his property worth $75K due to the explosion. She and her insurance company State Farm filed a lawsuit against Apple over that huge amount of money.

Thao assures that she did not do anything wrong to the battery.

The lawsuit claims that "preliminary investigations show evidence of a significant and localized heating event in the battery area of the iPhone."

Further declares that there were "remnants of internal shorting, indicating that an internal failure of the iPhone's battery caused the fire."

The State Farm lawsuit said that the iphone was "In a defective & unreasonably dangerous condition " when Thao bought it.

Though it is unclear from the lausuit whether the iPhone was in charging mode or not. Also it is unclear whether the phone was sent to Apple to examine.

The whole incident is very unfortunate. Many of the Facts in this case is quite absurd and unclear. It requires a lot of intense investigation to be done.
